Picture P33 : The North Entry Lighthouse and Breakwall near McLain State Park. This lighthouse marks the passage for ships entering and leaving the Portage Shipping Canal into Lake Superior. This picture was taken early in the morning in February. The temperature at the time was a minus -12 degrees F. The breakwall stands covered in a six-foot coating of ice. A full moon can be seen setting in the western sky.
